Dated 1916

LONG JOURNEY TO WED MAN OF HER CHOICE
Miss Mary Moorhead Leaves Indiana on Friday for Honolulu

A long journey to wed the man of her choice will be started by Miss Mary
Moorhead, daughter of Mrs. J.C. Moorhead, of School street, Friday morning,
when she leaves Indiana for San Francisco, Cal., from which place she sails
next Wednesday for Honolulu to become the bride of William Brown. The entire
trip will be made alone. The wedding will occur on Tuesday, July 18 immediately
after her arrival in Honolulu.
Miss Moorhead was born and raised in this place and graduated from Indiana
State Normal school ten years ago. She accepted a position as teacher in the
Ambridge schools several years ago and taught three terms. She met William
Brown, a construction engineer, who is now directing the work on the great dry
docks at Pearl Harbor, near Honolulu. The friendship ripened into a deeper
affection which will unite the two at the marriage altar in Honolulu July 18 at
the close of a long journey by the bride.
