Logan R Moorhead and Carol Virginia Chalk Marriage

 

The following wedding notice was obtained thru H&GS of Indiana Co., PA and dated September 27, 1950: (includes picture)

The marriage of Miss Carol Virginia Chalk, daughter of Mrs. Charles Huber Chalk of Drexel Hill, to Mr. Logan R. Moorhead, son of Mrs. Helen Moorhead of Indiana took place the evening of September 9 at 8:00 in the home of the bride's mother.

Dr. Arthur James officiated at the double ring ceremony performed by candlelight before the fireplace which was beautifully decorated with white pom pons, chrysanthemums, girdioli, ferns and palms.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Frank Chalk, wore a allerina length cocoa-colored dress of lace and carried a bouquet of cymbidium and oncidium orchids.

She was attended by her sister, Barbara, now Mrs. Edwin Mecanik of ilmington, Delaware, who wore a cocoa-colored brocade threaded with silver, and carried a bouquet of Talisman roses and birds of Paridise.

Ronald C. Moorhead served as his brother's best man, and Dr. Edwin Mecanik and Charles A. Moorhead, another brother of the groom, were ushers. A reception for approximately 75 guests was held in the home after the ceremony. Among the out-of-town guests who were able to attend were Mrs. Helen Moorhead of Indiana, Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Forster of Plainfield, N.J., and Mr. Don Moorhead of New York City.

Shortly after the reception, the couple left for Old Forge, N.Y., where they were registered at the Old Forge Inn for a week's honeymoon.
