Walker Township History
History of Huntingdon and Blair Counties, Pennsylvania by J. Simpson Africa Philadelphia, PA: Louis H. Everts, 1883
Walker township occupies a position southwest of the Juniata River, and has that stream for its northeastern boundary. On the northwest is the township of Porter, on the west Blair County, separated there from by Tusseys Mountain; on the southeast Juniata Township. Piney Ridge forming the boundary line. Occupying the larger portion of the interior is Warriors Ridge, so called from an Indian path which led along its summit a barren and in many parts a worthless tract land.
