STEELE
James Steele died at his home in Glenwood, near Pittsburg, Sundaymorning Aug. 2.  Mr. Steel was in his 67th year and was for sometime proprietor of the Walton House.  For the past few years hehad resided at Glenwood where he was proprietor of a large boardinghouse.  He wad kind in disposition, genial and was respected byeveryone.  He had been in poor health for two years from lungtrouble, but was bedfast only about two weeks.
Deceased was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hill, daughter of ThomasHill, deceased, of Franklin Township.  Mrs. Steele and sixchildren survive:  Mrs. Belle Murray, James, Thomas and CharlesSteele of Pittsburg, Mr. J. R. Cross of this place, and Mrs. N. C.Woodruff of Woodruff, this county.  The remains were brought hereMonday morning and were taken to the home of J. R. Cross, from whichthe funeral was held Tuesday at 10 a.m., services being conducted byRevs. Howard, Calder and Chalfant.  Interment in Green Mountcemetery.  Mr. Steel was a brother-in-law of S. W. Scott and Z. C.Ragan, of this place, and of E. R. Throckmorton of Franklin Township.
