Mildred Patterson Sokol, 82, of Waynesburg, died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday,February 26, 2006, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va.
She was born March 25, 1923, in Goshen, Va., a daughter of George W.and Susie Wood Patterson.
Mrs. Sokol was a member of Hewitt Presbyterian Church, Rices Landing.
She was a former waitress at Waynesburg Elks Club, Holiday Motel andRusso Restaurant.
A homemaker, Mrs. Sokol enjoyed sewing.
Her husband, John P. Sokol, died August 24, 2002.
Surviving are a daughter and spouse, Sharon and Chuck Zimmeman ofWaynesburg; a son and spouse, William and Fran Riggle of McMechen,W.Va.; two stepdaughters and spouse, Debra and John Doyle of Apollo andCindy Moore of Belpre, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; sevengreat-grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Ferguson of Perrysville, Ohio;two brothers, William Patterson of New Kensington and Robert Pattersonof Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Evelyn Patterson; and four brothers, DavidLester (Pat), Earl, George and Charles Raymond Patterson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday inMilliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., 197 North Maiden Street,Waynesburg, Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, where servies willbe conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, with the Rev. John Phippsofficiating. Entombment will be in Greene County Memorial Park,Morgan Township.
