Earl M. Patterson Sr., 79, of Waynesburg, died Thurday, March 2, 2000,in Washington Hospital.

He was born January 20, 1921, in Goshen, Va., a son of George W. andSusie Jane Wood Patterson.

Mr. Patterson was a laborer and superintendent with R.G. Johnson Co.for 35 years.  In 1986, after retirement, he owned and operatedPatterson Auto Repair.

Herserved in the U.S. Army during World War II in the PhillippineIslands.

Mr. Patterson was a member of First Church of the Nazerene ofWaynesburg.

On August 13, 1942, he married Helen Eileen McMasters, who diedDecember 17, 1997.

Surviving are two sons, Warl M. Patterson Jr. and Larry Patterson, bothof Waynesburg; three daughters, Helen, Joan and Jane Patterson, a;; ofWaynesburg; four grandchildren, Sandy and Bobbie Hammons, ReginaPatterson and Larry Patterson Jr.; two great-grandchildren; fourbrothers, Robert Patterson, Charles Raymond Patterson and LesterPatterson, all of Waynesburg, and William Patterson of New Kensington;two sisters, Mildred Sokol of Carmichaels and Lucille Ferguson ofTuledo, Ohio.

Deceased, in addition of his wife, is a brother, George S. Patterson.

Friends of Earl M. Patterson Sr. of Waynesburg, who died Thurday, March2, 2000, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 11a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of services, Saturday, March 4, in BehmFuneral Home Inc., Greene Street, Jefferson, with the Rev. John T.Hayes officiating.  Entombment will be in Greene County MemorialPark. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion, Veteransof Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans, all of Waynesburg.
