Owned Waynesburg used car dealership

David Lester "Pat" Patterson, 83, of 330 Doty Street, Waynesburg, diedat 9:20 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2001, in Greene County MemorialHospital, Waynesburg.

He was born March 24, 1917, in Goshen, Va., a son of George W. andSusie Wood Patterson.

Mr. Patterson was a member of Church of Christ in Waynesburg.

He worked for several years for R.G. Johnson Construction and alsoworked for the Conservation Corps. camps.

Since 1945, Mr. Patterson owned and operated Pat's Motors inWaynesburg, one of the oldest used car dealerships in Greene County.

On September 9, 1939, he married Grace M. Scritchfield, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Berneda Kay Laskody of Waynesburg andWilma Ann Huffman of Spraggs; a son, David E. Patterson of Waynesburg;eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Sokolof Carmichaels and Lucille V. Ferguson of Toledo, Ohio; three brothers,Charles R. and Robert L., both of Waynesburg, and William C. Pattersonof New Kensington; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, Lester Gene Patterson; a grandson, Bradley GenePatterson; a sister, Evelyn Patterson; and two brothers, George S. andEarl M. Patterson.

Friends of David Lester "Pat" Patterson of 330 Doty Street, Waynesburg,who died Friday, February 23, 2001, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m.Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Milliken and ThrockmortonFuneral Home Inc., 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where serviceswill be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 26, with Brother Gary Berdineofficiating.  Interment will follow in Greene County MemorialPark, Morgan Township.
