Jesse Calvin Mercer, 62, of 5 Mark Avenue, Washington, died Thursday,December 10, 1998, in VA Medical Center 645, Piitsburgh.
He was born September 19, 1936, in Fairview, W. Va., a son of the lateAlbert Denzil "Pete" Mercer and Mary Toothman Mercer.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and served twice in Vietnam.
He was a member of Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of ForeignWars in Waynesburg and the Arden Club in Washington.
Surviving are a brother, Albert Lyle Mercer of Washington; and hisformer wife, Jennie Mercer.
Friends of Jesse Calvin Mercer of 5 Mark Avenue, Washington, who diedThurday, December 10, 1998, will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9p.m. Saturday in Owen-Neely Funeral Home, Blacksville, W. Va., whereservice will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 13, with Pastor ThomasVance officiating. Burial in Blacksville Cemetery. Graveside military services and pallbearers will be provided by GreeneCounty veterans clubs.
