Almira Eberhart was born in Yates county, New York state, February 22,1829. In the year 1850 she was united in marriage with James T.Vandruff, and the couple later came toNebraska in 1871 and took a homestead four miles north of Bradshaw,where they continued to reside until the deathof Mr. Vandruff, which occurred in the spring of 1893.
To this union were born ten children, eight of whom survive. Thoseliving are; Mrs. Perry Fogle of Campbellsville, Kentucky; Henry V. ofLong Beach, Calif.; Miss LizzieVandruff of Bradshaw; Joseph of Bradshaw; Mrs. Rebecca Pickerel ofMorefield, Nebr.; Mrs. LouieBrumbaugh of Central City; and Amos of York. In childhood Mrs. Vandruffjoined the Methodist church, andduring her entire life has been a devout and consistent follower ofChrist.
The summons came to Mother Vandruff as the shadows of evening werefalling Saturday, September 19, 1914, at the ripe age of 85 years, 6months, and 27 days.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon. Short service washeld at the residence at 2:30 o'clock and afterward at the Methodistchurch at 3:00 o'clock. Rev. A. A. Wilsonhad charge of the services, and taking for the basis of his remarks thesubject "Mother" he rendered a mostimpressive sermon, closing with a tribute to the deceased, and amessaage of comfort to the bereaved family.
A large crowd was in attendance and many followed the remains to itslast resting place, in Plainfield cemetery.

We wish to thank the friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us inthe sickness and death of our dear mother. We also appreciated thesingers and floral contributions whohelped to make the services so beautiful.

CALLED BY DEATH
Her Death Was Hastened by a Fall a Week Ago
Mrs. Almira Van Druff, a pioneer woman of this city, died at the familyresidence in Bradshaw Saturday night.
She had been in poor health for several years, but a fall in her home aweek ago hastened her death.
Mrs. Van Druff was 65 years old. Her husband died twenty years ago.Three sons and five daughters survive.
The family homestead northwest of Bradshaw forty-four years ago, movingfrom Rock Island, Ill.
The funeral will be held at the Bradshaw Methodist church tomorrow at 3o'clock. Burial will be in the Bradshaw cemetery.

Henry E. Vandruff, aged 64, died at his home, 1724 Iowa avenue at 3:15o'clock this morning. He had recently returned from California where hesought to regain his health.He is survived by a wife, five sisters and two brothers.
The remains will be at the home of his brother, A. D. Vandruff, 1021Burlington avenue where services will be held at 1:15, the Rev. Dixonofficiating Thursday.
Funeral services will be held at Bradshaw in the afternoon at 2:30o'clock at the Methodist church. The Masonic lodge of Bradshaw willhave charge of the services at thecemetery. Interment will be at Plainview.

DIES SATURDAY AFTERNOON
Miss Elizabeth Vandruff, 73, died at a Hastings hospital Saturdayafternoon, following an illness of long duration. Miss Vandruff wasamong the early residents of the vicinityof Bradshaw.
She is survived by one brother, Amos Vandruff of Fremont and twosisters, one, Mrs. Rebecca Pickrel, residing in Iowa and anothersister, whose name was not learned, issaid to reside in California.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Bradshaw thisafternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Oliver Keye, pastor of the Methodistchurch in this city conducted theservices. Interment was in Bradshaw cemetery.

AT HASTINGS SATURDAY
Joseph A. Van Druff, 68, for many years a resident of Bradshaw died atthe state hospital at Hastings, Saturday afternoon, after an illness ofmany years.
The body was returned to York early Sunday morning.
He is survived by three sisters; Miss Elizabeth Van Druff, also ofHastings, Mrs. Teria Fogat of Sawtell, Calif., and Mrs. R. E. Pickrelof Moorfield, and one brother, A. T. VanDruff, of Fremont.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Bradshaw attwo o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be in Bradshaw cemetery.
