The Petition of Herman Bloom of Venango County humbly sheweth that your Petitioner is a native of Germany theretofore was a subject of the Kingdom of Germany, that he has resided within the limits & under the Jurisdiction of the United States of America five years & within the State of Penna one year. & that he has continued to reside within the same & that your Petitioner on the 25th day of August 1845 declared his intentions in the Court of Common Pleas of Venango County to become a citizen of the United States, that he will support the Constitution of the United States, and that he Doth absolutely and entirely renounce & abjure forever all allegiance & fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever and Particularly to the Prince of Germany whereof I was heretofore a subject. Your Petitioner therefore prays that he may be admitted to become a citizen of the Unites States of America.

I Herman Bloom do swear that the facts set forth in this my petition are true & that I will support the Constitution of the United States & that I do absolutely & entirely renounce & abjure forever all allegiance & fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever & particularly do absolutely & entirely renounce & abjure forever all allegiance and fidelity to the Prince of Germany whereof I was heretofore a subject.

Dale of Venango County & Commonwealth of Pa. do swear that the Petitioner Herman Bloom has resided within the limits and within the State of Pennsylvania one year & that during his residence within the same he has behaved himself as a man of good moral character, attached to the Constitution of the United States well disposed to the good order & happiness of the same.
