Will of Owen Davis (1725-1810)

Will dated 12 January 1803 transcribed by JMW as it was written.
In the name of God Amen I Owen Davis of Georges Township Fayette County and State of Pennsylvania being weak in body But in perfect mind and memory, thanks be givin to God. But calling to mind that it is appointed for all men once to die. Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament, that is to say Princible and first of all, I Recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, and my Body I Recommend to the Earth to be Buried in a Christian maner at the Derection of my Executors, and as touching such Worldly Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me, I give and Dispose of the Same in the following maner and form in first after my Just Debts and Reasonable Expenses are paid.
I give and bequeath to my Beloved Wife Hannah a horse and saddle and bed and beding and one third of all my Real and Personal Esate during her Natural Life. I give and Bequeath to my sons Philip and Samuel and to my Daughters Mary Elizabeth and Hannah Each ten shillings and to the children of my Daughter Jane ten shillings and to Thomas Brown son of my Daughter Ruth ten shillings I give to my Daughter Anne a fether Bed and bedding a case of Drarvs and One Cow when she arrives to the Age of Eighteen I give and Bequeath to the Children of my Daughter Sarah Each ten shillings I also will that all my lands Except what lyes in Virginia shall be sold at the Deceas of my wife Hannah and the Money to be Divided in Six Equal Parts my son Masech to have one part, my son Enoch one part, my son John one part, my son Isaac one part, and my son James one part. Out of the other remaining Sixt part the chillren of my son Evan Deceased is to have ten Shillings Each, and out of the Remaining of the Sixt part my Son Masech is to have Thirty four Pounds, and my son Enoch is to have One hundred and Seven Pounds if their should be so much and if their should be any Over it is to be Equally Devided amongst the children of my Son Evan. I also will and that my Land Laying in Virginia be Sold at my Descas and the money Equal Divided among all my Children the heirs of Jane Ruth Sarah and Evan to have as much as parance would have had they been living, and I hearby constetute and appoint My two Sons Philip and Masheck Executors of this my last will and Testament and I Do hearby Revoke and Disanull all other former Wills Testaments or legecys and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I have hear unto Set my hand and affixed my seal this Twelft Day of January in the year of Our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and three. 1803
