According to accounts written in the Robert McClelland book,
"Masontown and Its Environ," p 13:
"On the Mack farm,
on the west side near the former Walters line, lie the remains of
Newcomers, Johnsons, and Youngs. The earliest burial that I have been
able to determine was made about 1812. The last, that of Fannie Young,
in 1895. Mrs. Young was the grandmother of Katherine Mack, who later
married Dr. E. K. Wells. Mr. and Mrs. Young lost four of their children
in the summer of 1862; the children died of scarlet fever, according to
an account of Mrs. Joseph Owens, who knew the family of Mrs. Hannah Mack,
daughter of Mrs. Young and granddaughter of David and Magdalene Johnson."
