Remembering the Mariucci Family of Elk County PA

Domenico Mariucci; b. about 1869 in Sigillo, Italy; m. Angela or Angeline Nasoni; b. about 1871 in Italy. Domenico
was found on the ship’s manifest of the S. S. Lorraine that sailed from Havre Jan 11, 1913, and arrived at the Port
of New York Jan 21, 1913. He stated that his wife Angela was still in Sigillo, and he was destined to travel to
St. Mary’s, PA to visit his brother in law Giovanni Salvadori. Domenico also said that he had visited the US in
1909 and stayed at St. Mary’s. His height was listed as 5’ 3”. His eye and hair color are illegible. Angela, Lucia,
Louisa, Marianna and Santino were on the S. S. Olympic that sailed from Cherbourg Sep 03, 1913 and arrived at the
Port of New York Sep 10. On the manifest they listed their home town as Sigillo, and that Domenico paid for their
trip to Pennsylvania. During the 1920 census, Domenico, Angela, Santino and “Tresa” were living in Horton, Elk
County, PA and he was working as a coal miner. According to the census, he immigrated in 1902 and was
naturalized that same year. In the next house widow Anna Nasoni age 60; b. in Italy was living with her
sons Angelo age 25; b. Italy and Amadao age 22; b. in PA. Anna and Angelo immigrated in 1896.

Lucia “Lucy” Mariucci; b. Aug 04, 1894 in Sigillo, Italy; d. Oct 1984 in Brandy Camp, PA; m. about 1914 Elio
Mascioni; b. Apr 10,1887 in Italy. Elio filed his WWI draft registration card Jun 1917 in Horton, PA when he and
his family were residing in Brandy Camp and he was working for the Shawmut Mining Company. He was described as
having a medium build, grey eyes and brown hair. During the 1920 census, Elio and his family were living in
Horton, Elk County, PA and he was working as a coal miner. According to this census record, Elio immigrated
in 1910 and Lucy in 1913. They were still in Horton in 1930. On Nov 14, 1948 Lucia and her son Angelo departed
Naples, Italy aboard the S. S. Nea Hellas and arrived at the port of New York Nov 30th. Their US address was
listed as Box 45, Brandy Camp, PA.
Louise Mariucci; b. Jan 22, 1896 in Sigillo, Italy; d. Apr 15, 1994 in DuBois, PA; bur. in Holy Cross Cemetery,
Brandy Camp, PA; m. Angelo Armanini; b. about 1886 in Austria; d. before the 1930 census. During the 1920 census
Angelo and his family were living in Horton, Elk County, PA. In 1930 Louisa was a widow with her children in
Horton.
Marianna Mariucci; b. Nov 25, 1897 in Sigillo, Province of Perugia, Italy; bpt. Nov 30, 1897 in Sigillo;
d. Sep 05, 1964 at 11:35 am in DuBois Hospital, Dubois, PA; bur. with her husband in Holy Cross Cemetery,
Brandy Camp, PA; m. Lindo Baratter [Bart]; b. Dec 10, 1892 in Crenshaw, PA; d. Feb 13, 1964 in Brockway, PA.
Marianna at age 16, sailed on the RMS Olympic from Cherbourg, France, and arrived on Ellis Island USA
Sep 10, 1913. Her mother and siblings accompanied her.
