The olde Stoner Farmhouse along Route 230 in Lower Swatara Township
Heinrich STEINER (Stoner) emigrated from the Tulpehocken Settlement in BERKS
County (was Lancaster County until March 11, 1752) sometime prior to 1780 and
purchased land in Lower Swatara Township, Dauphin County (was Lancaster
County until March 4, 1785). Was this previously owned by Andy Eschenauer?
The STEINER/STONER farm was passed down to descendants until (date) it was
passed on to (who) in (date). Charles Selcher, a 1931 graduate of Middletown
High School, was born and raised in the Stoner Farmhouse, which at that time was
owned by Redsecker Young, a newphew of Col. James Young. Col. Young purchased
many of the Lower Swatara Township farms. The Stoner Farmhouse was called the
Old Stone Inn by some, is now known as Brattina's Inn.
