James & Helen Meabon   came to Sherrod Hill,  Washington Township, PA.  James parents were George & Margaret Mabon born in Scotland.

The original Meabon deed transfer for the property on Eureka Road was dated November 18, 1834 from a John Groger to John Meabon, born 1808.  John married Diantha Lewis. 

Another son, James,born 1809, married Amanda Foster and they settled in Erie Co.

Other children of James & Helen Meabon were: Robert married Sarah, Elizabeth married Andrew Wetzel, George married a Lucinda Eckler, and Helen married a Stephen TenEcyk.  Some of them went to Michigan and raised families there.
