John Heliker married Catherine and had children. Moved his sons Clark Rice, George and Elias to Rome Township, Crawford County, Pa about 1855. He grew blind and died in 1879 in the family home at Buel's Corner. He and his wife Catherine are buried high on a windy hill in Whitney Cemetery north of Buel's corner. 

Meanwhile Nelson Buel and his wife Maria were raising a family nearby when the Helikers appeared in Crawford County. Their Daughter Sarah C. Buel married Clark Rice Heliker and they set up housekeeping on the next farm, owning several tracts of fertile farmland. Clarks and Sarah's only son Albert John Heliker was born June 1, 1873, in Titusville, Pa a short distance south of Buel's Corner. 

They adopted a boy Lester Elwin Heliker. Sarah died when AJ was 14 years old. She is buried in Whitney Cemetery. Clark alone by 1908, moved to Indianapolis Indiana to live with his son A.J. He died June 10, 1911 and his body was returned to Spartansburg where he was buried at Whitney Cemetery next to his wife.
