WILL OF GILES STANFORD, DECEASED.

I, Giles Stanford, of Rockdale Township, in the county of Crawford, state of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say:

First, it is my will and I do order and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.

Second, all my real estate including my homestead on which I now reside, being 200 acres more or less, I give and bequeath the same to my beloved wife, Betsey, for and during her natural life, and I also give and bequeath my said wife, after all my just debts and funeral expenses are paid, all my personal property of whatever kind or nature soever the same may consist.

Third, land or real estate herein above bequeathed to my said wife after her decease I give and bequeath the same to the following named of my children, viz: to my daughter Aurelia, wife of Orey Newton of Rodmene, Jefferson County, New York. To the children of my daughter Arisa, now deceased; Mary Mott, wife of Charles Mott; and Sarah Jenne the wife of Daniel C. Root; Cassandra, wife of William H. Bunce and Harriet wife of Augustus Knerr. I give my said real estate to my said children as above named to be divided between them share alike except to my grandchildren, the children of my said deceased daughter Arisa, they to have by representation the share or part that would be going to their mother being the one-sixth part of my real estate to be divided equally share and share alike between them my said above named children, their heirs and assigns forever. And lastly I nominate, constitute and appoint my son-in-law, William H. Bunce, to be the executor to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 6th day of January in the year of our Lord 1866.

Signed, sealed and published by the above named Giles Stanford as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us and in his presence who at his request have subscribed our names as witnesses to the same.

On this 4th day of May 1866 personally came before the Register for the Probate of wills and in and for the county aforesaid, Joseph S. Perkins and William Homan, the two subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of Giles Stanford, late of Rockdale Township, deceased, and being sworn saith that they were present at the excution of the within will and saw the same signed by the said Giles Stanford and heard it declared by him as and for his last will and testament and at his request and in his presence of each other signed the same as witnesses therein at which time the testor was of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding.
