I, William (H.) Mumford, of the township of Frenchcreek, county of Mercer and state of Pennsylvania publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making null all former wills by me made; and thus I direct that my beloved wife, Sarah, shall have the possession of the house I now reside in together with the garden, heretofore occupied by us, during her natural life. Also the mare, saddle and bridle which she brought with her when I married her, also all the beds, bedding, household and kitchen furniture. To her also two good cows and ten sheep, this personal property at my demise to belong to my wife, Sarah, to be disposed of at her decease as she may deem best.

2nd -- my daughter Abigail, to her I give and bequeath fourteen dollars cash in addition to a book account I have against her, the same Abigail Lange, the offered fourteen dollars to be paid at the expiration of one full calendar year from the time of my decease. 

3rd -- And to my son, William W. Mumford, I give and bequeath, all my personal property now in my possession together with any money or valuable thing that is now due or may hereafter become due to me or my heirs, except what was above given to my wife Sarah.I also direct that my son William W. shall have all the real estate owned by me except the home and garden, the use and control of which is reserved for my wife, Sarah, during her life. Also, I direct that my son, William W. Mumford shall provide pasture and feed for the aforesaid stock given to my wife, Sarah, and also to make certain payments to the rest of my children as hereinafter mentioned; and I direct my son Wm. W. to provide twenty five bushels of good wheat, eighty buckwheat and deliver the same to the said Sarah, house ground and in good order, three hundred lb.of good pork, one barrel of salt. He shall pay funeral expenses, all my debts and all taxes that may be owed on the above mentioned real estate. (The above mentioned quantity of grain, pork and salt to be provided annually for the same Sarah. Sarah also he shall provide a sufficient quantity of groceries to supply her completely during life as they may be needed.

And to the rest of my children give and bequeath as follows, to wit: 

To my son Anthony, I give ten dollars in addition to my property for which he gave a quit claim and receipt dated the 26 of March AD 1882, to be paid in one year after my decease,

And to Rebecca Firster, five dollars in addition to fifty already given for which I have her receipt, the money to be paid in one year from my decease,

And to my son Ezra, I give sixty dollars to be paid in two years from my decease, 

And I direct my son, James Mumford, shall rest satisfied with the amount already given him which was one forty acre land ----- and forty dollars in cash, the receipt for which I have now in my possession.

My daughter, Rachel shall be paid the sum of forty five dollars in addition to five acres given her for which I took receipt, the money to be paid at the expiration of two years from the time of my decease,

And to my son John I allow fifty dollars to be paid at the expiration of two years for the date of my decease.

And lastly, I will appoint my son, William W. Mumford, my executor to carry this my last will and testament in to effect and also to provide suitable head and foot stones for his own mother and myself and cause them to be placed at our respective graves in the usual manner. And I now declare this and the two preceding pages to be my last will and testament and set my hand and seal, to wit my hand to the two preceding pages as the head thereof, and my hand and seal to this paper the eleventh day of December AD1852.
