The last will and testament of Nathaniel Calvert of West Fallowfield twp, in the county of Crawford. Being of sound mind and memory, First, I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid,

Second, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth, one third part of the land that I bought of Wilcox and of Robert Clark.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Ann intermarried to William Mossman one dollar.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy intermarried with Thomas McAlleese, one dollar.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my son James, as much timber as will raise a frame barn.

Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Margaret, intermarried with Allen Mossman, one dollar.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Martha, one hundred dollars, to be paid by my sons William and Joseph in household furniture and stock, one year from this date.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my son William, the two thirds of the land that I bought from Wilcox and Robert Clark and the half of the land and sawmill. And the sawmill to be shared when he arrives at the age of twenty one.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph, the half of the parcel of the land that the sawmill stands on and half the sawmill as long as he lives.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my son John's heirs, each one dollar.

Item, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth's heirs which is now dead and that was intermarried with James Mossman, each one dollar.

I do appoint my son Joseph W. Calvert the sole executor of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal the Eleventh day of May, A. D. one thousand eighteen hundred and forty eight.

In Crawford County personally appeared before the district registrar for the probate of wills and granting of letters of administration in the aforesaid county, J. C. McGranahan and H. B. Andrews subscribing and swearing to the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Nathaniel Calvert late of West Fallowfield township, deceased, who have duly sworn according to law depose and say that they were present at the execution of this will and signed the same and witnessed at the request of said Nathaniel Calvert, who declared the same to be his last will and that he was at the time of sound and disposing mind and memory. They further depose and say that said will was drafted by J. C. McGranahan at the instance of Nathaniel Calvert, and that owing to the extremity of his illness, he was prevented from signing his name thereto and that his name was signed to the same by the said J. C. McGranahan by the express request of the said Nathaniel Calvert in the presence of deponents. The interlineations of the words "one dollar" and the word "dollar" in first page done before execution.
