In the name of God, Amen. I, Joseph
Barnard of the township of Waine (sic)
County of Crawford, and State of Pennsylvania being sick and weak in body,
but of sound mind, memory, and understanding, (praised be God for it)
considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time
thereof, and to the end I may be better prepared to leave this world
whenever it shall please God to call me hence, do therefore make and
declare this may last will and testament in manner following, (that is to
say:) first and principally, I commend my soul into the hands of the
Almighty God my creator, and as to my personal property I will that just
debts as shall by me owing atg my death together with my funeral expenses
and all charges touching the proving of this my will shall in the first
place be fully paid out of my personal property, Then my will is that my
wife Sarah shall have ;her full support and
maintenance out of my property for and during her natural life, my will is
;that if Marthy Hannah my youngest daughter
shall stay and take care of Sarah her mother
during her mothers life, that at her mothers death I will that above named
shall have all my personal property whatsoever it may be household
furniture and all my property excepting real estate consisting in landed
property, Then my will is that after my wife Sarah death, that my landed
property shall be indifferently divided into three equal parts one equal
third part whereof I give and bequeath to my son Joseph
D. and his heirs, one other equal third part whereof I give and
bequeath to my daughter Mary and the other equal third part whereof I give
and bequeath to my youngest daughter Marthy,
and furthermore I do lastly nominate constitute and appoint Joel
Oakes of the township of Waine (sic) and Lorenzo
Johnston of the township of Woodcock both of Crawford County
executors of this my will hereby revoking any and all former and other
wills by me at any time heretofore made, and declare this only to be my
last will and testament.
In witness whereof, I the said testator have to
this my last will and testament set my hand and seal, the Fourteenth Day
of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Sixty-Four.

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said testator as and
for his last will and testament, in the presence of us who in his presence
and at his request, and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our
names as witnesses thereto.

Crawford County so
On this 13th day of June, 1864, personally came before
me the Register for Probate of wills in and for the said county, Joel
Oakes, V. G. Birchard, two of the subscribing witnesses to the
foregoing instrument of writing, purporting to be the last will and
testament of Joseph Barnard, late of Wayne
Township in the county aforesaid, deceased, and being duly sworn depose
and say that they were present at the execution of the said instrument,
and saw it signed by the said testator, and heard it declared by him as
and for his last will and testament, and by his request, and in his
presence signed the same as witnesses thereto, at which time the said
testator was of sound mind, memory and understanding.
