  Emery Melville Wood 

The Jackson (Mich.) Press publishes a biographical sketch and account of the funeral of the late Emery M. Wood Ph. D., who died in Albion, Mich. Nov 6. Professor Wood was a graduate of Allegheny College, afterwards taking a post graduate course at Cornell, taking a course in mathermatics and astronomy. He was professor of mathematics in Baker University, at Baldwin, Kas., 14 years and at the time of his death, he was professor of mathematics at Albion College. He was a public speaker of note and has been frequently heard at Chantanqua. The funeral was held in Albion on Nov. 8, when the remains, attended by a guard of honor from the college, lay in state for a time in the First M. E. Church, in which Dr. Wood was long an active and valued worker. Six of the college professors assisted as bearers and the interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.
