The death of William D. Shartle occured at his home in Vernon Twp. Friday evening, May 26, 1922 from the effects of a paralytic stroke suffered some time ago. Mr. Shartle was in his 80th year and up to the time of his affection was in fairly robust health. He is survived by his wife and several children. He is a member of the Conneaut Lake Methodist Esplican Church and when able to be he was a faithful attendant. Funeral services were held for the residences on May 29, 1922 at 2:00 pm. Rev. E.H. Jones, his pastor, officating. D.C. Rhodes was the undertaker. Intermint was made at the family plot in Lakeview Cemetery.
