Conneautville, Aug. 11, --- Justin
L. Baker, and well known and practically a lifelong resident of
this section, died at the home of George Nelson,
in Summit township, at about 9 o’clock Saturday morning, following an
illness of about two weeks, although in failing health for some time past.
Mr. Baker, who was in his 84th year, was born in Ohio, and came to
this section early in life, and remained to make his home here. He was
married to Miss Eliza Skeels, of Hayfield
township, whose death occurred about fourteen years ago. He had made
farming his life work, as long as his health permitted, and his many years
of residence in the community had given him a wide acquaintance and many
friendships. A brother James D. Baker, of
Summerhill township, and a sister, Mrs. A. F. Ammon,
of Buffalo, N.Y., are the nearest surviving relatives.
Funeral services will be held at the Hervey
White residence, Conneautville, at 3 o’clock, Monday afternoon,
in charge of Rev. A. M. Lockwood, of this place, a former pastor of the
M.E. Church. Burial will be in Conneautville
cemetery.
