Mrs. Alvira Ash
Funeral services in memory of Mrs. Alvira Ash, aged 77 years, were held in
the Riceville M.E. Church Thursday February 5, at 2 0'clock. Interment in
the Riceville cemetery beside her husband, John Ash, who died sixteen
years ago in the same month. The services were conducted by Rev. C.V.
McKain, with a prayer service at the home of her son, Everett Ash. The
remarks at the church were brief but beautifully fitted to her life, which
was one of loving Christian service. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. May
Himebaugh, two sons, Everett and Leo Ash, seven grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren, who mourn a loving mother and grandmother.
There was a large gathering of relatives and friends to do honor to her
memory. Those from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Himebaugh, Mr. and
Mrs. Leo Rosesky and daughter, Louise, Mr. and Mrs. George Coulter and
John Coulter of Meadville, Mr. and Mrs. John Himebaugh of Erie, Mr. and
Mrs. Duff Brace, Mrs. Alfred Brace, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Guelick, Mr. and
Mrs. Edward Lee of Conneaut, Ohio, Mrs. Harry Banley, Townville, Mr.and
Mrs. Walter Ash and daughter, Mildred, Mrs. Hiram Ash, and Mrs. Grayson
Sherrod of Cambridge Springs, Mr. and Mrs. William Benson and Mr. and Mrs.
William Matthews of Titusville, Mr. and Mrs. Wave Blakeslee of
Spartansburg, Mrs. Jack Sanders of Union City and Edward Weibeck of
Falconer, New York.
