William Davis

Fought at the Battle of Trenton, NJ

William Davis was born in 1730 in Ireland.  He and his son James fought at the battle of Trenton, and his wife, Mary Means (1735-1813), who he married in 1757, prepared lint for the wounded.  He gave the army horses, wagons, and produce from his farm. William Davis died in Crawford County, Pa. In 1824. 

His son, James Davis, married Rachel Stewart.  Another son, William Davis, Jr. (1762-1823), married in 1786 to Sara Stewart (1762-1825)
