111th PA Volunteer Infantry

Enlisted with the 90 day men in 1863 at the age of 15.  Fought several battles under General Sherman 

serving in the Southwest.  

At one battle Capt. Walshe was shot and 

fell to his death at Wayne's feet.  

Theodore Wayne Stem, known as Wayne,  was born 11 Jan 1848, in Saegertown, Crawford Co., PA.

Wayne died July 1, 1864 of fever and is buried in Chattanooga, TN. 

His family lived in Crawford County and are buried in Saegertown Cemetery.
