Entered the service 16 Oct 1862 as a 

Private in Co. K, 169th Regiment.  

Discharged 26 Jul 1863.  

One year later, he re-enlisted in the 199th

Said to be the last survivor of the 199th Regiment.  Died at age 93.

Paul Albaugh, was never wounded, confined to a hospital or taken prisoner during the war.  In the winter of 1864-65, he was awarded the "premium" which was in the form of a 30 day furlough for being the cleanest, best versed in the manual and the most soldierly appearing soldier when an inspection was held.  He accepted the honor, but declined the furlough in favor of a veteran who had not been home in nearly 3 years.

Husband of Margaretta Marhoffer.  Father of Ludwig, Frank, Charles, Emma Katherine, Mary, Fred, Ida R. 

Paul Albaugh died 14 Jul 1935 and is buried in St. Agatha's Cemetery in Meadville.
