Rev. James D. Knapp was the son of Nathan and Anna (Meeker) Knapp. He was born Pine Township. He was the 2nd husband of Mary Wheeler Knapp.
They were married in 1879 and she died December 10, 1912. He was a minister in the Erie Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
He was Licensed to Preach, 1871; admitted on trial, 1888, full connection, 189O; ordained Deacon in 1884 by Bishop Henry White Warren;
ordained Elder in 1888 by Bishop Randolph Sinks Foster.
