Rev. Clyde Dire Knapp was the son of Gilson Philetus and Lucy Jeanette (Cox) Knapp. He was born Lake Pleasant, Pennsylvania.
He was a minister in the Erie Conference/Southeast Ohio Conference and California Conference of the United Brethren in Christ Church/Evangelical United Brethren Church
and United Methodist Church. Bertha (Crain) Knapp was his 1st wife. They were married November 7, 1902. Bertha died November 1921. Mary Magdelena (Schoenthaler)
Knapp was his 2nd wife. They were married June 21, 1923. Magdalena died February 17, 1949. Georgie (Bradley) Miller Knapp was his 3rd wife.
They were married September 22, 1949. Georgie died October 24, 1977.
