Rev. John Graham, the oldest member of the Erie Conference, M.E. Church in point of service, died in Meadville last week.
He had attended every session of the Erie Conference from 1836 until 1896, and was placed on the super-annuated list only a few years ago.
His son, Rev. W.P. Graham, is Presiding Elder of the Jamestown District. Rev. John Graham was born in Franklin, Sept. 2, 1816, and was there fore in his
82d year at the time of his death. He was the oldest representative of the well-known Graham family, of Sandycreek township. In 1836 he attended the
Erie Conference as a local preacher, and in 1840 became a member of the Conference.
Mr. Graham was married in 1842, and he and his wife celebrated their golden wedding at Albion, Erie county, Sept. 5, 1892.
Mrs. Graham died in January, 1897. Five of their children survive, two sons and three daughters. The funeral was held in Meadville.
