Obituary:
Rev Ellis was reared on a farm and finished school at age eighteen. At age nineteen during the winters he taught school and in the the summers he worked on the farm.
After teaching, he worked as a carpenter for 5 years. In 1872, he entered Bucknell College and graduated in 1875 with a B.S. degree.
After college, he attended Crozer Seminary, and later spent his life as a Baptist Minister and served as pastor at many churches across the state of Pennsylvania.
