 Obituary: Joseph A. Cousins MEADVILLE - The Rev. Dr. Joseph A. Cousins, 86, of Guys Mills RD 1, Crawford County, Pa. died in Spencer Hospital in Meadville yesterday after a short illness. Dr. Cousins was born in Kittanning on May 6, 1884 to the late Joseph and Lydia Eisenhuth Cousins. He was a minister in the United Methodist Church for the past 58 years, and was a pastor in churches in Erie, Punxsutawney, Meadville. the Croton Avenue Methodist Church in New Castle, Sharon, Reynoldsville, Sharpsville, and in retirement served Methodist Churches in Branchton and in Meadville. He was a graduate of Grew Theological Seminary in Madison, N.J. He is survived by his wife, the former Jessie Beck, whom he married Jan. 4, 1905; three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Jessie) Newberry of Lake City, Pa., Mrs. Oscar (Helen) Bishop of Sharon and Mrs. Frank (Neva) Chismar of Guys Mills; four sons, the Rev. James Cousins of Erie, Richard of Dubois, the Rev. William Cousins of Union City, Mich, and Joseph of Saegertown, Pa.; 20 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The service will be at the funeral home Friday at 1:30 p.m. and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon. New Castle News; Aug 12, 1970
