 In 1870 he and his parents and two siblings lived in Brown Township, Vinton County, OH. His father worked as a collier. In 1880 he and his parents and six siblings lived in Buffington Township, Indiana County, PA. His father worked as a collier. In 1900 he, his parents, brother Herbert, sister Mabel, her husband, and their two children lived in a house they were renting at 125 J Street in Johnstown, PA. His father worked as a day laborer, Herbert as an engineer, and his brother-in-law as a clergyman. In 1920 he, his wife, their two children, and his father lived in Centerville, Crawford County, PA. He worked as a clergyman. In 1930 he and Effie and their two children lived in a house they were renting for $25 a month at 109 Euclid Avenue in Saegertown, PA. They did have a radio. He worked as a clergyman at an M.E. Church.
