Dr. Gilbert L. Stevens, was born March 21st,
1822, in DeKalb, St. Lawrence county, New York. In 1830, be removed with his parents to Cooperstown, New York. His early
years were devoted to the study of medicine. In 1841 he entered the University of the Baptist denomination. He has served as
Pastor in the following places: Harpersfield and Yorkshire, New York; Tioga, Meadville and Erie City, Pennsylvania; Lima,
Ohio; Fort Wayne and Delphi, Indiana; Sturgis, Michigan. During all these labors among these churches, he has continued the
practice of medicine. During the last twenty years, Dr. Stevens has given special attention to diseases of the eye and ear
and chronic diseases, and having bad very marked success in the cure of a great many cases of catarrh, both pulmonary and
cerebral, he now giving the public the benefit of his discoveries and inventions for the radical cure of catarrh diseases, by
the manufacture and sale of a remedy called "Persian Kababa," which is adapted to the local treatment. He also
prepares a compound as a constitutional remedy in that class of diseases. He is consulted by letter, and sends his remedies
by mail to all parts of the country, and is doing a very fine business in this line.
