Helen E. Remler, partner in the
general insurance agency of Remler-Shuman and treasurer of the Home Building & Loan Assocaiation, was born in Meadville. She
is the daughter of John J. and Martha Breen Remler. She was graduated from Meadville High School and became a stenographer in
the E. A. Hempstead Insurance Agency. When the agency was incorporated in 1929, she was named secretary and treasurer. In
March 1933, the corporation was dissolved and in partnership with F. H. Shuman, she took over the business. Miss Remler is
the state vice-president of the Business and Professional Women's Club. In 1935, she spoke on "Women in General
Insurance" at the Seattle national convention of the club. Miss Remler is a member of St. Brigid's Church, Catholic
Daughters of America, the County Club and the Chamber of Commerce.
