Roe Reisinger

ROE REISINGER was born at Fallstown, Beaver county, Pennsylvania, October 28th, 1842, where his parents resided until 1844, when they moved to Venango county, five miles from Franklin. They continued to reside there until 1860. From that time until the present the family has lived in Meadville. He was educated in the common schools and at Allegheny College, but did not complete his college course owing to the breaking out of the rebellion. In August, 1862, he enlisted in Company H, 150th Pennsylvania Volunteers, and was one of the regimental color guard. He was wounded three times at the battle of Gettysburg, and was transferred to Company B, 14th V. R. C., where he served until June, 1865. He was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant of Company D, 114th U. S. Colored Troops, and joined his regiment, then on duty on the line of the Rio Grande, in Texas. In March, 1865, he was promoted to First Lieutenant. He was mustered out with his regiment at Brazos de Santiago, Texas, April 2d, 1867, and returned to his home. He then studied law with A. B. Richmond, Esq., and was admitted to the bar of Crawford county in June, 1870, since when he has remained at Meadville, engaged in practicing law. He was married June 1st, 1871, to Mary A. Barnes, of Yates County, New York. Mr. Reisinger is a member of no religious organization. In politics he is an extreme Republican.
