WILLIAM WARREN PAINTER
was born in Lawrence county, Pennsylvania, September 8th, 1843, but when only five years of age removed with his parents to
Mercer county. After a common school education, he entered Allegheny College, at Meadville, Pennsylvania, April, 1862, and
graduated June, 1866. The following July he became a student of the Theological School at Evanston, Illinois from which
institution he graduated October, 1868. At this time he entered the ministry of the gospel in the Methodist Episcopal Church,
uniting with the Wisconsin Conference. In September, 1872, being transferred to the Erie Conference, he has there since
remained, laboring as pastor, one year, in the Second Methodist Episcopal Church, of Akron, Ohio; two years at Talmage, Ohio;
three years at Franklin, Pennsylvania, and for the past year at Titusville. Rev. Painter was married December 1st, 1875, to
Ella B. Gregory, of Toledo, Ohio.
