Theodore B. Lashells

Dr. Lashells was born at New Berlin, Union county, Pennsylvania, March 20, 1839. He was educated at Jefferson College, at Cannonsburg and in the medical department of Columbia College, Washington, D. C. He was graduated M. D. from the latter institution in February. 1862. In 1861 he was appointed medical cadet, and in August, 1862 was appointed Assistant Surgeon of the Twelfth Pennsylvania Cavalry, and Surgeon of the Seventeenth Pennsylvania Infantry, December, 1862. From October, 1863 to May, 1865 he was Surgeon on the Brent Marshall Board for the Twentieth District of Pennsylvania, and since 1869 he has been Surgeon of the Atlantic and Great Western Railroad. He is one of the Censors of the Wooster University at Cleveland. In 1875 he was appointed Health Officer of Meadville and served until 1878. He is now Surgeon of the Fifth Brigade of National Guard of Pennsylvania. During his practice he has operated for coccyx, stone, and reduced a dislocation of the shoulder of six weeks' standing, etc., etc. He is at present surgeon in charge of the St. Joseph's Hospital, Meadville and is now Chairman of the Board of Health. He was married, October 1, 1863, to Jane, daughter of Samuel A. Torbett, of Meadville.
