JOHN JOSEPH HENDERSON. Is the son of W. C.
Henderson, a Methodist clergyman now retired, and was born in Allegheny county, Pa., Sept. 23, 1843. His parents came to
Meadville in 1854, when he was 11 years of age, and remained two years, during which time he had the benefit of the Meadville
schools. He then left Meadville, returning again in 1858 to enter Allegheny College, and pursuing and completing the
classical course of studies, he graduated in the class of 1862. Taking up the study of law he was admitted to its practice in
Crawford county in 1864, and in course of time to the various courts of the State and nation. In 1872 he was elected District
Attorney on the Republican ticket, and served in that capacity for three years, since which time he has devoted himself to
the general practice of his profession.
