Charles
M. Carter, district manager for the Edward
A. Woods Company, general agents for the Equitable Life Insurance
Society of the United States, was born August 12, 1897, in Almond, N.
Y. He is the son of Charles N. and Ida Travis
Carter.
He was graduated from Almond High School and from Alfred University
with a B. S. degree in 1920. He has don advanced university work in
life insurance underwriting.
After teaching in the Reynoldsville High School for three years Mr.
Carter came to Meadville in 1923 in the position he now holds.
He married Dorothy Langworthy of Alfred,
New York. They have three children, Eleanor
Mae, Marjoris Jane, and Charles Langworthy Carter.
Mr. Carter is a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Masonic order,
the Kiwanis Club, and the Klan Alpine of Alfred University.
