Calvin, A. C. - M.D., Meadville, was born in this county, October 21, 1854, and is a son of Joseph A. and Mary (Frame) Calvin, natives of Pennsylvania, and of Scotch-Irish descent. His father was a farmer, and raised a family of four children, of whom our subject is the eldest. Dr. Calvin was educated at Allegheny College, and took a medical course at Jefferson Medical College, graduating in 1878. Commenced practice in Philadelphia, but in the fall of 1878 came to Meadville, where he has been in practice ever since. He was married in Meadville in 1880, to Priscilla, daughter of James A. McFadden, for many years an attorney in Meadville, and who died in 1877. They have one child, J.M. The Doctor is a member of the I. 0. 0. F.; in politics a Republican.
