The book, History of Columbia and Montour Counties, Pennsylvania, edited by: J. H. Battle, 1887, has tons of information. This site does not contain a complete copy of this book but it does contain portions of the book that deal with the local histories of Columbia County's Townships. These have been transcribed from the book by the volunteer listed on each page.

Many of these histories include the names of Columbia County's earliest settlers. Some families are only mentioned briefly, while others receive more attention.
