Albert L. "Lewie" Shoff, 86, of Madera, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2006 at 7:45 pm at Mt Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
Mr. Shoff was born in Madera, PA on November 24, 1919, the son of the late Gard W. and Oneida (McCracken) Shoff.
He was a member of Madera Presbyterian Church.
He graduated from the former Bigler Twp. High School and served in the U.S. Army as a Technical Sergeant in WW II.
He was self employed owner - operator of Shoff's Market Madera., for 40 years. He retired in 1986.
He was a charter member of the John Branic V.F.W. Post #8822, Madera; a life member of the Elks Lodge #212 Tryone; life member of the Osceola Mills Lodge #515 Free and Accepted Masons and a member of the United Commercial Travelers Council #621.
He is survived by a brother Dr. William C. Shoff, DDS and his wife Mary Ann of Indiana, PA. Three sister-in-laws, Jenny Lehman of Madera, Doris Lee of Madera and Julia Shoff of Maryland. A number of nieces and nephews also survive him.
On June 22, 1964 in the New Kensington Presbyterian Church he married the former Hazel Lee. She preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 2005.
He also was preceded in death by his stepmother, Ada McCracken Shoff, two sisters, Maude Carson Granville and Barbara Close, and a brother, Gard W. Shoff, Jr.
Friends will be received on Tue. Aug. 1, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Wed. Aug. 2, 2006 from 9-11 am at the Kruise Funeral Home, Inc. 254 Lynn St. Madera.
Funeral Services at Kruise Funeral Homes, Inc., Madera, PA, at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 2nd, with Rev. Thomas A. McCoy officiating.
Interment will follow in the Alexander Cemetery, Madera, PA.
