HOUTZDALE - Margaret "Marjorie" Philage, 75, of Houtzdale RD died Tuesday, July 27, 1999, at Centre Community Hospital, State College. Born Feb. 13, 1924, in Ramey, she was a daughter of John and Elizabeth (Dudek) Yaletchko. She was a 1942 graduate of Ramey High School. Mrs. Philage was a homemaker and a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale. She served with the U.S. Women's Army Corps during World War II. On Oct. 5, 1946, in Tyrone, she wed William "Howard" Philage, who preceded her in death on June 22, 1996. She is survived by three children, William A. Philage of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Jesse (Paulette) Howe of Ramey and Mrs. Charles (Susan) Walker of Philipsburg; three grandchildren, Jessica Howe of Ramey, Bethany Walker of Philipsburg and William Philage of Winchester, Tenn.; three sisters, Evalyn Patrick of Largo, Fla., Mrs. Chester (Virginia) Philage of Houtzdale RD, and Mrs. Ridgley Evengeline (Lou) Hopkins of Kingsville, Md.; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, Pauline, Agnes and Christine. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale, by Msgr. Desmond McGee. Interment will be at Alexander Cemetery, Madera. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home, Houtzdale. Christ the King Rosary and Altar Society will recite the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. and a vigil prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. both Thursday at the funeral home. Graveside military services will be conducted by the Stephen Kandrach Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6321 Smithmill.
