CLIFFORD MCCRACKEN OBITUARY

Clifford G. McCracken, 96, of Clearfield died on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022 at his home.

He was born on Jan. 28, 1926 in Lumber City, a son of the late Cortez "Jinks" and Elizabeth "Bessie" (Lippert) McCracken.

Mr. McCracken was employed as a machinist at NARCO, retiring in 1988 after 40 years of service.

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post 6 and a life member of the Robert Ferguson Post 842 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Curwensville.

Also, he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 812, Clearfield, the Loyal Order of Moose, Curwensville and the Fraternal Order of Police Post Lodge 51 of Bald Eagle.

Mr. McCracken served with the U. S. Army during WWII and earned a bronze star and the U.S. Army Combat Infantryman Badge.

He is survived by eight children, Catherine Brown of Clearfield, Gerald L. McCracken and wife Joanne of Clearfield, Linda Fink and husband Jeff of Clearfield, Andrew McCracken and wife Glenda of Warren, Ohio, Harold "Howdy" McCracken and wife Lori of Brenham, Texas, Russell "Rusty" McCracken and wife Diane of Curwensville, Scott McCracken and wife Lori of Hurricane, W. Va. and Joseph McCracken of Clearfield; 24 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Missy McCracken of Philipsburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann McCracken on Sept. 12, 2019.

He was also preceded in death a son, Ronald McCracken; four sisters, Stancia Mullins, Virginia Wright, Louise Drought and Verna Tome; and five brothers, Howard, Cortez Jr., Harold, Robert and Paul McCracken.

A graveside military service will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022 at 11 a.m.
