William B. Reese, 81, of 724 Weaver St. Extension, Clearfield, died Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7:05 a.m. at the Altoona Veterans Administration Hospital.
He was born Feb. 28, 1893, in Karthaus, a son of Samuel and Pollie (Maven) Reese.
Mr. Reese was retired from North American Refractories and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He was affiliated with the Clearfield American Legion, the V.F.W. of Clearfield, and World War 1 barracks of Curwensville. He was a Seventh degree member of Bradford Grange and was a veteran of World War I in which he served overseas for two years.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie (Norris) Reese; a daughter, Mrs. Marten (Elaine) Hinkle of Fairview; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hoover, Mrs. Ada Stroup, and Mrs. Herman (Sarah) Guenot of Karthaus; a brother, David Reese of Karthaus; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Maynard Barnhart officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Curwensville.

Friends may call at The Bennett Funeral Home Inc., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and in the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until time of services. Military services will be conducted at the graveside.
