Leonard P. Pentz

GRAMPIAN - Leonard Paul Pentz, 94, a-guest at The Curwensville Nursing Home and formerly of Hepburnia, died Friday, Jan. 1, at Clearfield Hospital.

Born Oct. 6, 1893, in Penn Township, he was the son of William and Hannah (Cleaver) Pentz.

He married the former Marion Hess, who preceded him in death June 16, 1950. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, the former Annie Flood.

He is survived by three sons and one daughter, Clarence W. of Johnstown, Edwin W. of Grampian R.D.,. with whom he resided for the past 22 years, Russell J. of Erie and Mrs. Arthur (Dorothy) Craft of North Collins, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one brother, Ellsworth of Grampian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives and one infant son, Thomas. He was a farmer and had retired from Harbison Walker Mining Division in Clearfield in 1960.

Mr. Pentz was an Army veteran of- World War I, a member of the Glen Richey Presbyterian Church and a past member of Lawrence Grange.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. in Curwensville with the Rev. Robert Patton officiating. Interment will follow in Friends Cemetery, Grampian R.D. Friends will be received at the funeral home tomorrow from 2 p.m. until the service Monday.
