The passing of J. Wilbert (Foxy) Kerr leaves this community with one less useful citizen at a time when, not only wartime jobs are to be done, but many post-war undertakings are not far around the corner.

"Foxy" could and did get things done. He worked at methods peculiarly his own but he got results, mostly because his every acquaintance had a hearty respect for him. Here was a man who never had a selfish axe to grind; indeed, he might will have stood accused on neglecting his own welfare to advance that of the community. He led without seeking leadership and that, perhaps, was the secret of his successful discharge of duties and responsibilities thrust upon him by the firemen, the various county fair managements, the Legion and other groups which pay tribute to his memory.

Any man should be proud to have behind him such a record of unselfish service to his neighbors and to his community as that rolled up by "Foxy" Kerr.
