CURWENSVILLE - Michaelangelo Fida, 87, of 509 Meadow St., Curwensville, was dead on arrival at the Clearfield Hospital Saturday, Aug. 23, at 11:20 p.m.
He was born in Italy, May 14, 1888, a son of Dominic and Catherine Fida. He was a retired employe of Howe's Leather Co., Curwensville. He was also a veteran of World War I, having served in the Army.
He was a charter member of the Susquehanna Barracks, and a member of the American Legion, Curwensville. He was also a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Curwensville.
Mr. Fida is survived by three children and a step-daughter; Vincent of Curwensville; Anthony of Easton; Mrs. Edward (Catherine) Sheehe of Harrisburg and Maria fuDomenico in Italy.
Eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 13 step grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Conceta Sorbeta; one step-son, one step-grandchild and one brother.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated tomorrow at 9 a.m. from St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield. The Rev. Joseph Maryland will be the celebrant and interment will be in the Crown Crest Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Russell H. Lininger Funeral Home, Curwensville from 4 p.m. today until the hour of services. Scripture Vigil Services will be held at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
