CURWENSVILLLE - John Leon Dotts, 84, of Ridge Ave., Curwensville, died at the Clearfield Hospital Wednesday, March 30, at 10:40 p.m.
A son of John and Alice (Bloom) Dotts, he was born in Glen Hope Dec. 19,1892.
He was a retired employee of the Clearfield Tannery and also of the Curwensville Cemetery Association.
He was a member of the Curwensville United Presbyterian Church and of the DuBois American Legion.
Mr. Dotts served with the Army in World War I.
Survivors include his wife, the former Myrtle Daub; a daughter, Mrs. William (Sara) Lundy, Salina, Kan.; a son, Howard, Rosewell, N.M.; a stepson, Denumn Begor, California; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and the following brothers and sisters; Oel Dotts, Florida; Carl Dotts, California; Merrill Dotts, Pittsburgh; Droze Dotts, Clearfield; Marl Dotts, Clearfield; Mrs. Zella Beam, Jersey Shore; Mrs. Ed (Beryl) Boalich, Florida and Mrs. Ethel Snavely, Boise, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by a brother and by his first wife, the former Ethel McCloskey.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Russell H. Lininger Funeral Home, with (he Rev. M. Dayle Dickey officiating.
Interment will follow at the Crown Crest Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Friday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday until the hour of the service.
